Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy plays a key role in enabling clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live life to its fullest by taking into consideration each individual’s psychological, physical, social and emotional well-being. The occupational therapists maximize each individual’s independence and participation in areas such as activities of daily living (self-care tasks), work, play, leisure, home management and social participation. Occupational Therapy intervention includes: direct treatment as well as home-environmental modification, task adaptation and compensation, patient-caregiver education, family/staff counseling, etc.
